Bambi Needs Your Help: Urgent Brain Surgery Required

Just a few weeks ago, we asked for your help to fund critical care for five of our rescue dogs—including Bambi. Thanks to your incredible generosity, we were able to carry out essential diagnostic tests to understand what was causing her blindness and distressing spinning episodes.

Now, we finally have an answer: Bambi has hydrocephalus, a condition where fluid builds up on the brain. If left untreated, the increasing pressure could cause severe brain damage—or worse.

The good news? There’s hope. Bambi can have life-changing brain surgery to place a shunt that will drain the excess fluid safely into her body. This procedure gives her the best chance at a pain-free, happy future—one where she can run, play, and enjoy life just like any other young dog.

But we can’t do it alone. The surgery costs £2,400, with a potential follow-up procedure costing an additional £1,500. As a small, volunteer-run rescue, we rely entirely on donations to give dogs like Bambi the care they need.
