About us
Lurcher SOS is a Suffolk based Lurcher, Greyhound, Saluki, Whippet, and all other Sighthounds Rescue. Now in our 15th successful year, Lurcher SOS was started in 2010 by two lifelong Lurcher owners.
We have a network of supporters, fundraisers, and foster homes in several counties, homing dogs across England, Wales, and Scotland.
Our volunteer mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome abused, abandoned, and neglected Sighthounds, including Lurchers, Greyhounds, Whippets, and Salukis, from the UK, Ireland, Cyprus, Romania, and Egypt.
Our priority is dogs at risk of being put to sleep or in danger, and we assist other Sighthound rescues whenever possible. We place all our dogs in loving foster homes for proper assessment and rehabilitation, avoiding kennels to better match dogs with adopters.
Our dogs are neutered (when possible), receive full veterinary treatment, microchipped, vaccinated, wormed, and de-flead before adoption.
As a non-profit organization with no funding, we rely on public donations and always need fundraising support. We seek new foster parents and permanent homes for our dogs. For more information, please visit our Help Us page.
