Each dog at LurcherSOS has unique needs, including socialization, overcoming past trauma and fears, veterinary care, and specialized diets. In addition to these essential requirements, they also need the basic comforts of food, bedding, toys, and treats. By sponsoring one (or more) of our dogs, you will play a crucial role in ensuring they receive the love, care, and resources they need to heal and thrive. Your support will help give these deserving dogs the opportunity to enjoy a happy and fulfilling life

Meet our sponsor dogs

Candela

  • Candela is a galga who came to us from Spain. She is deaf which she copes with very well. For some odd reason, nobody wants this stunning girl, so she has been in the rescue for over 1000 days. Sponsorship money would contribute to Candy’s care and ensure she lives a full and happy life, whether that is in her foster home or in her perfect forever home.

Princess Holly

  • Princess Holly is an 11-year-old Whippet Lurcher who was found as a stray in a heartbreaking condition. She had a growth in her mouth, several tumors, including a large mammary tumor, and significant hair loss on her back and ears. While we await lab results, the mammary tumor is almost certainly malignant. Holly has already accumulated significant veterinary costs and will require ongoing medical care for the rest of her life. Despite the neglect she has endured, Holly is a sweet, good-natured girl who loves cuddles and gets along wonderfully with the other dogs in her foster home. She will stay with her experienced foster family for the rest of her life, where she is thriving and enjoying her well-deserved comfort and care.

Amber

  • Amber arrived to Lurcher SOS in 2024 and was quickly taken into foster care due to her kind and loving nature. However poor Amber was chewing her paws red raw, and after many trips to the vets it was discovered she has pruritus associated with allergic dermatitis. She responded well to medication, but she will need medication for the rest of her life which will cost around £50 per month. This additional cost has made it harder to home poor Amber, but luckily her foster dads have decided that they are happy to keep Amber in their family forever! Sponsoring Amber will ensure that her new pawrents are supported and Amber gets the continuing medical help she needs.

Madi

  • Madi came to us from Ireland. She is a beautiful rough-coated girl and unfortunately has a bite history. She is incredibly lead-reactive which makes everyday life very stressful for the poor girl. Luckily, she has stayed as a foster fail in her foster home, but she needs full-time medical care including anti-anxiety medication which she will be on for the rest of her life. Sponsoring Madi will help contribute to this expensive care.

Faun

  • Faun came to us after her owner died, and has been in foster ever since. Poor Faun is 13 years old and due to tumors on her leg, she is looking at a potential amputation. Sponsoring Faun would support her ongoing medical care, and ensure she lives out the rest of her life in comfort and without pain.
