Chase

Chase is a young boy, around 1 ½, and approx 24kg, who loves nothing more than cuddling up to humans! He has had a tough start in life but you’d never guess, as he is so trusting and loves people. Here’s what his foster parents have to say:

”Chase is currently in foster with us in Norfolk, where we’re giving him plenty of love to show him that the world isn’t so scary when you have people who care about you! He is the biggest cuddle-bug, when you pet him he leans right up against you! He is absolutely scrumptious and loved by everyone who meets him. When we go to cafes or out for lunch, Chase sits on his bed like an angel and settles wonderfully. His only condition is that we make sure to feed him the occasional biscuit!

He loves zooming around the garden with a squeaky toy and then climbing onto our laps on the sofa for a snooze. He is a great catcher of balls, and will even bring them back to you for more throwing! Chase has also shown early signs of being recall trainable, which has been practiced in enclosed fields and is coming along nicely.
We’re not sure if he’s ever been walked on a lead before, so we’re working on teaching him how to walk nicely. He can pull a little at the moment when he sees other dogs, but we’re making progress with daily training. He is picking up the ‘heel’ command beautifully!

He also gets very excited when he sees other dogs and people, simply because he loves meeting others and wants to say hello! He is very food-motivated, which has made training so far a breeze (his favourite is cocktail sausages!). He is young and keen to learn.

Chase is a playful boy, so would really benefit from having another companion dog to play with, or humans who are around most of the day to keep him company and play tug of war with him.

Chase has some separation anxiety, likely a scar from his troubled start in life, but with gradual training, time, and companions, we are sure he will blossom into a confident boy. Recently, he has started choosing to settle in another room rather than following us around all the time—sometimes even sleeping downstairs on his own! He has also been able to stay with other people when we go out, and although he whined a little at first, he soon relaxed and snuggled up. These might seem like small steps, but for a dog like Chase, they are huge milestones that show his future is bright! To start with, potential adopters should not be leaving the home for an extended amount of time, and be willing to put in the training to improve his separation anxiety.

The people or person who give Chase a forever home will be very lucky indeed, and the love they put into him will be reciprocated tenfold.”

Chase is housetrained, neutered, vaccinated, and ready for his forever home.
